SPACE
The RV measures 22 feet from the back of the spare to the front bumper. 7 1/2 feet wide, 9 feet tall from the top of the AC (the highest point) to the ground.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This RV has a 4.3L V6. It is a tried and proven power plant with current replacement parts in abundance. It is GM's second most successful power plant. It has 108,285, with plenty under the pedal due to it's light weight fiberglass construction. It offers GREAT MPG without suffering from lack of power. Just ask anyone who has a four cylinder RV. It does not leak a drop of anything, or smoke. Turn the key and it starts right up. The engine is lubricated with Castrol 5W-30 synthetic oil and has been for the past 6 years, also just changed. It has a new tuned up. Plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, and replaced both the muffler and tail pipe that carry a Midas lifetime warranty.
The transmission is a solid GM 7004R automatic with overdrive. The transmission service was just performed. Flush, filter and fluid. New speedometer gear and shift lever seal. I also replaced the receiver bearing where the two drive shafts meet underneath. It shifts smoothly with no hesitation.
CAB
The cab is in excellent condition. No cracks or damage. All of the indicator lights function properly. It has a tilt wheel and cruise control. The speedometer works properly as does the center console, parking brake, and other controls. All of the fuses have been checked. She's ready to go!
AIR CONDITIONING
The cab AC was just serviced, vacuumed, oil charged, and then charged with 134A. It has a Coleman rooftop unit with 2 speed fan which also works fine. BEWARE of the ad that says, "Has AC but needs a charge" AC repair is the most expensive type of auto repair and that "needs a charge" thing can end up costing a ton! The rooftop unit does not and will not run on DC power. You must have a shore connection of 110V.
V6 ECONOMY MPG
Most RV's get TERRIBLE gas mileage. This little RV is light (5500 GVW) and will deliver 14 - 18 MPG. A V8 will deliver 9 to 12 MPG, an average of 6 MPG difference. So for every 100 miles you travel in a V8, you'll spend $33.30 @ $4.00 a gallon. In the Aerolite, that same distance will cost $22.20. 33% BETTER FUEL ECONOMY! Believe me, it adds up in a hurry! If you plan extended travels, you will save THOUSANDS in fuel costs.
CHASSIS
This RV sits on a Chevy Astro long wheel base van chassis. The RV has a footprint very close to a normal sized LWB conversion van with a very low center of gravity which makes it easy to drive. The shell is a welded metal frame with a fiberglass exterior. VERY LIGHT compared to other RV's and NO RUST...EVER! It has a trailer hitch that will tow 2500lbs, (More if you add a transmission cooler) and has an extended shelf bumper with a lockable storage box. The airbags are also new. Air ride suspension with fittings, mounts and hoses that provide a comfortable ride and are rated to support 18,000 lbs. They are the top of the line "Air Ride RV Suspension Kit" and cost more than $1200.
This is also a single rim axle RV, just like any van. A huge benefit when compared to a dual rim that takes special tools not to mention time when and if you have a flat. The tires are RV rated with about 90% tread. The rear tires are Goodyear Wrangler HT 6 ply sidewalls at 65psi. The proper tire for a single rim RV. The front tires are Kumho Solus KR21's.
EXTERIOR
The windows with problems were completely removed, and the surrounding wood (interior side) was replaced. The windows were reinstalled with a commercial window sealing strip and then shot down every 4 inches with screws. Some might say that it's overkill but they will NOT leak again! 95% of the damage found was due to leaking windows. The front window was replaced with 1/4" translucent plexiglass. It allows the light to come in while offering privacy and there is no need for obtrusive curtains or blinds.
The grey water holding tank was insulated and wrapped with an electric heating strip that can be connected to 110V or the inverter in freezing conditions. We have stayed in Colorado with temperatures in the 20's with no problems. The fresh water tank is in a heated part of the RV. Typically, black water does not freeze but additives are available just in case. The house batteries are accessible from the outside in a separate lockable compartment that is vented.
The roof is in excellent condition. Properly sealed with no leaks. When the interior was removed, there were no signs that the roof had ever leaked.
INTERIOR
The interior is new and finished in semi-gloss brilliant white. When you enter, you see a modern RV interior that doesn't look like you just entered a time warp. That simulated wood grain was a bad idea even in the 80's! The only remaining original material is the floor made of one inch plywood which was in excellent condition and the bathroom. The bathroom floor covering was replaced and a new, never used Dometic toilet and fill line was installed. The bathroom has a very nice shower basin and sink.
All new Luan wood paneling was used for wall covering and then shot with latex semi-gloss for easy cleaning. The original doors were sanded and shot with high gloss oil enamel. All of the hinges were replaced and are spring loaded to keep the doors closed while driving. The larger doors also have latches. Felt silencers were added so they don't "slam" when you close them and provide a tight seal to prevent them from "rattling" when you are on the road.
All of the light fixtures and bulbs are new, as well as the carpet which is a very high grade. Some people prefer a harder floor surface but I like the comfy feeling of deep shag between my toes. Carpet is lighter, it insulates better against climate and noise, and is MUCH easier and cheaper to replace. Eventually, ALL RV floors get trashed no matter what the material. Also, Pergo, or other simulated wood flooring swells up like a balloon if it gets wet. Better to use carpet or linoleum. Also included is a Power Brush portable vacuum to keep things tidy.
All of the closets have been carpeted. This serves as a cushion since things tend to shift around. It also serves as an insulator for both sound and climate, and it looks great!
The captain's chairs are like new as is the matching sofa that was installed which also sleeps one without having to "build" some contraption with the seats and table that is typical in RV's. Just remove the back of the seat and sack out! The cabinet for the fridge and microwave was custom built. There is a new .7 cubic foot, 700 watt microwave. Along side is space for a coffee maker with a 110V connection. To the side of the fridge is a compartment to hold your trash can. A feature missing from most RV's. Below the microwave is a cabinet with another 110V connection and a 12V DC lighter connection for cell phone or game console power.
The over cab bunk was widened 12 inches. It now measures nearly 5 feet wide, 6 1/2 feel long, and 22 1/2" of headroom so even the big guys can sleep comfortably. It is carpeted with matching carpet installed throughout the RV and has two, dual head aircraft style reading lights on either side and a central light in the center. With the wider berth, a new cab headliner was made and matching dual head light installed. All the windows have screens.
STEREO
Gotta have tunes! A brand new NAXA AM/FM, CD, MP3 player with remote. It has a USB port, SD card slot, I-Pod AUX input, Bluetooth for wireless streaming from your laptop, tablet or cell. Bluetooth wireless for cell phone connection that will route your calls automatically through the stereo for hands free operation. (It has a built in mic) It has 40 watts per channel pushing four 6X9 triaxial speakers rated at 800 watts. It also has front and rear preamp RCA outputs to connect to a power amp should you decide to add one.
HOUSE POWER, FOUR 29 CELL DEEP CYCLE RV HOUSE BATTERIES 2660 AMPS!
12V D/C power is generated by not one, not two, not three, but FOUR, yes FOUR, DIEHARD 29 cell deep cycle MARINE/RV batteries. 2660 amps of POWER! There is over $1000 just in batteries and inverter! You could run this RV for a couple of weeks just on house power without a charge. There is a 110V shore connection that connects with a simple household extension cord. The batteries and 110V power run through a 32 watt power inverter that charges the batteries when connected. There are breakers for the main RV power, 110V outlets, and fuses for the DC power options of the RV. There is also an additional 400 watt inverter to convert the battery power back to 110V electricity. If you require 110V household current on demand, you have 2660 amps to draw from. When no 110V electrical shore connection is available, you can charge the batteries with the Yamaha 2 1/2 horse 2000 watt generator.

I have tried to describe everything with as much detail as possible but this is, and should be considered, a used RV. It is not perfect but then again, it's not $60,000!. There are small imperfections as is to be expected with anything preowned. There is some fading on the front door panels and the armrests are warn. I can say that it is an exceptional preowned RV well worth the investment. It has been well cared for and maintained. When things needed attention, they were addressed. With the additional batteries and power conversion features, plus the propane efficiency, one could make extended camping trips to very remote areas or even live in this RV. It is completely self contained and provides "off the grid" living, exceptional fuel economy, and IT'S PRETTY!
