Here is a link to my Craigslist ad.

Sorry about the lack of exterior shots. I'll take some soon. Van is white and has typical Arizona sun beat to crap paint.

Shoot me a text if you have any questions.

This is a 1995 Chevy Astro Van converted into a micro RV camper van

A great deal of recent maintenance and RV updates have been done. Read below for details. Van sleeps one or two people.

Runs and drives well. Starts right up every time and pulls like a racehorse. No leaks.

General Details:

1995, Rear wheel drive, automatic, long body, Chevrolet Astro CL, with optional power windows/driverseat/mirrors and double arm rest seats. Comes with 2,500 lb rated trailer hitch, 172,XXX miles. 4.3L Vortec V6 and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission.

Recent Maintenance:

New alternator, new radiator, new coolant lines, new vacuum hoses, oil change, transmission service with new filter (not a cheapo "flush"), new spark plugs and wires, new distributor cap and rotor, new serpentine belt and tensioner, new 180 degree thermostat.

Modifications:

Aftermarket transmission and oil coolers added to maximize towing capability and keep it running nice and cool. Rear air disabled as the system is prone to breakage. The perpetually broken typical Chevy hood release has been replaced with a quick release pin. The captive Chevy motor mounts which typical wear out quickly have been packed with urethane so they should last many many years.

RV Setup Info:

- Solar - 3x 15 watt roof mounted solar panels for a total of 45 watts of solar. 7amp charge controller connected from the panels to the vans battery. Charge controller has built in cutoff so that when the vehicle is running the alternator doesn't damage the charge controller.

- Power - 410 watt modified sine wave inverter with 2x AC power plugs mounted up front. Standard 12v power plug up front rewired to function when the vehicle is off. 12v LED lighting in the rear with an additional AC/DC rechargeable LED lantern.

- Propane - Standard 20 lb propane tank with gauge mounted under a rack. This can be refilled or swapped out almost anywhere. New double burner propane stove mounted on rack above tank. Little Buddy portable propane heater with automatic low oxygen and tip-over protection stores right next to the tank and can be hooked up as needed.

- Toilet - New Reliance brand stowaway toilet folds up and fits right under the bed. No need to empty sewage as these use gel bags which can be purchased at Walmart or ordered online and just thrown away when done. Comes with a box of bags for it.

- Cooler - Comes with an almost new Igloo brand 60 quart cooler. The cooler has wheels and an extendable handle to move it around easier. Also makes a fantastic end table when using the couch as it has 4 built in cup holders.

- Couch/Bed - Repurposed factory seat is mounted along the rear passenger side. Fold down the seat and add the cooler for a 6'+ bed platform. Van comes with a rolled up blue Ozark Trail fleece bag filled with two mattress pads. Very comfortable setup but if you'd prefer you can just unroll the pad on the floor. Also comes with a comfy memory foam pillow.

- Curtains - A big deal when van camping, this comes with blackout curtains installed between the cabin and the rear. Both side also have full length blackout curtains. All curtains are mounted with bungees and can be removed or adjusted easily. The rear window is uncovered so that it does not obstruct your vision when driving but includes bungees to throw an included fleece blanket up over the window when desired.

----------

Known Issues; AC and radio don't work. Van has a stereo head unit but it hasn't worked since we've owned it and I never bothered with it. If you make a reasonable offer I'll include an amp/sub combo and you can go as crazy with the stereo setup as you like.

----------

The van was pretty recently redone obviously but we find ourselves in a different situation and no longer have use for this mini camper.

Price is $2,500 or best offer. I'm not interested in trades of any type. I'll take some exterior shots when I get a chance but it just looks like a standard 1995 white Astro. Fastest/easiest way to contact me is via text message at show contact info

Thanks!

I'm mostly just on my phone, not a real computer, so posting like that and with all the pictures is a huge pain, ha-ha.

did you tie your van power directly to the input of your charge controller or do you have another piece of equipment inline? are you using a harbor freight controller that comes with the 45 watt solar kit?

your paint looks awesome. mine looks like someone hammered bird foot prints into it, then clear coated it with Mop & Glo.

There is a lot of sun damage on top of typical 90s GM paint. The pics must make it look better than it is, lol.

The charge controller is wired direct to the battery. I forget the brand but it is the older solid state controller that used to come with the HF kit. Pretty good controller with automatic cutoff at 14.2v

The inverter is just direct wired to the same battery.

Someone might prefer to isolate both to a separate deep cycle battery. Up to the buyer.
