Parting out fully optioned 92 Safari/86 Astro cargo Akron,OH

The time has come to think the herd of projects. So here are 2 complete gen 1s the Astro smells like cats but there is no interior anyway.

I was originally going to Frankenstein these two vehicles together to make one but after the engine seized on the Safari I couldn't afford to while preparing to go on tour. There is an iron Duke 4 cylinder in the Astro with a 700r4 they are old and leak some but they worked. The Safari had 4.3 in it with a 70,000 4l60 in it I am planning to use that for another project but will let it go for the right price. All of the electrical systems worked on both vans. I already have the subframe out of the Safari the power steering and everything worked as it should. The Safari has an adjustable roof rack and the Astro a full ladder rack.The doors on the Safari are in great shape as well as the glass except for the windshield. The windshield on the Astro is PERFECT. I have a full set of the old chevy dog dish wheels as well as the GMC wheels if interested the best ones are on my G20 van.

Between the two you can get almost any gen 1 part you need.

yeah it depends on your location cause shipping is super high. depending on your location I may be interested in the dash gauge assembly from the older one or at least the harness to the dash as mine is shorted out. I am definitely interested in the headlight switch assembly from the older one.

I recommend you save the black with silver bar trim because it's no longer available and a key piece to any restoration so that makes it rare and worth saving. I found the piece of molding I needed for my 1994, but this molding was used for many years and you would be doing a service to save it for some other astro or safari lover.

I am gonna save everything worth saving so anything you think I should keep around let me know. I am gonna have this up for 2 weeks then I'll post them locally because I am in need of trailer for my band. But I posted here you guys get your first pickings.

I need the 3rd led tail light screws. I have been trying to get them via chevy, but they said i needed ten and sold me the wrong screws. I have been trying via a row 52 contactor, but no joy yet. Other rare parts are dutch doors and protector for dutch doors and read a/c fan speed switch and lower radiator shroud and hardware and 4WAL Abs control unit. Little stuff drives you nuts if you try to restore an old van. Situation will become worse in future years as most vans older than year 2000 are junked out and crushed like the old station wagons. The station wagons are making a comeback and more valuable over time for the ones that remain uncrushed.
