FS: Volant Cold Air Intake for 96 and up!

Postby ritous1 [OP] » November 4th 2011, 2:38am

Had this on my van before I installed the supercharger. Had to do a custom intake with the blower so I have no use for this anymore. It's a nice piece and hard to find at a good price so hopefully one of you can make use of it. I don't have all of the clamps that came with it, but the sizes are all listed in the owner's manual, so a trip to the hardware store should fix that for ya. $85 shipped CONUS.

Here's a pic of when I had it installed

All I need is the duct that sits on top of the throttle body....mine is loused up and the stealership wants 75 bucks and a week to get it!

Sounds like a deal to me. Have to verify one thing though...is it the same size duct that is on my Astro now....I've got the 5.7 Vortec. Seems to me that the Astro would have the same size throttle body as the 5.7 since the stock air cleaner and MAF are the same size openings from what I've seen. Could you dig it out and measure the opening just so we can verify I'm getting the right thing? I'll take a picture and measure mine to compare against this weekend. If everything matches, consider yourself $20 richer.

I've got the throttle body right here, looks like 3-5/8" outside diameter which should be inside diameter for the hat.

Sounds like the same piece. I've got mine sitting here next to me and measured it. If it were going to be anything different between the V8 and V6, it would be significant, so I think we are good to go...

I'll PM you for more information and keep this thread clean.

better throttle respone, sounded better, but can't say for sure on power gains/mpg. The butt dyno always seems to say yes, so I just disregard him. By the way, I have an offer to pay tomorrow, so it may be spoken for.

I hope that that section was replaced , Because i want a WHOLE unit , Not one missing parts ,, Thats why when you posted that you bought the clamps I jumped on it ,,

Here is where I read it
