NP231 Transfer Case + Shifters + Lots of goodies...

Postby WinnieVan [OP] » January 26th 2020, 9:46pm

Hey Everyone... I had every intention of 4x4 swapping my Astro and I've had the parts sitting around for about 6 months, but I've bought a new van and I'm going to keep my Astro AWD for now:

Included in this package is the following:
- NP231 Transfer Case w/ Hotwire's Modification to selector flag inside to trigger 4LO ground directly off the transfer case (see here: https://www.astrosafari.com/viewtopic.p ... 3#p1026002)
- NP231 is completely gone through and everything is in excellent condition. All the seals have been replaced and it's ready for a lifetime of 4x4 fun)
- Jeep Liberty shifter + linkage (I was planning on using this -- I think it'd be perfect for this setup)
- Chevy Blazer NP231 Shifter + Linkage + indicator lighting + bracket for mounting the shifter (see Gavio's build for how easy this is to connect -- like this: https://www.astrosafari.com/viewtopic.p ... 9&t=137144)

I'd like $400 for the total package. This is basically what I have into it including all the trips to the junkyard for various parts, new seals, sealant, shifters, shifter bushings, etc.

I'm located in Bay Area, CA. I'd prefer local pick-up but could ship from 94704 if I need to.

Seems like a good deal for the entire package ready to go.

Feel free to do a build thread for your new van, once a member (almost)always a member. ;)

Nice! I just checked out one of those a few weeks ago and was so close to buying it. What are your plans?

I think you may need driveshafts for 96... I think 98+ doesn't require it? I think it's related to when they switched from teh Borg-Werner case to the the NP cases.

Could be wrong -- but I think that's true.

I'm interested in this. I live in SoCal but will be driving to Southern Oregon in about 1.5-2 weeks, so I could swing by the Bay Area on my way up. Or, if timing isn't right I could arrange for you to drop your goodies off in SoOregon at a friend's house.

My rig is an 03 AWD so it sounds like it's compatible, no?

You can use the 231, 233, 236 (or any other transfer case in theory, if you put enough modding into it)
