trans r&r complete now no cruise control??

My 2003 2wd transmission went bad. I pulled a spare I had from my last van a 1999 Astro and swapped it in. I know that the cruise control worked in that van.

On the left side of the transmission above the gear select cable there is an odd shaped plastic box with two electrical connector sockets. I think one of them might be at fault. They gave me a hard time coming apart. I butchered one of them and did surgery on the other but when it went together I had trouble lining up one of the pins. Is that a cruise control system component? Any other ideas???

The cruise control,, control module is mounted on the firewall in the center , there is a VSS vehicle speed sensor mounted at the rear of the trans ( 2 wire connector Lt Grn\blk and Puple\white) that sends a signal to the PCM and the PCM sends a signal to the CC conrol module

I know this is posted in numerous other places, but for future readers, the connectors are HOT GLUED in, heat
them with a hair dryer for a few minutes and they'll unplug easily; you're describing the neutral safety switch ( NSS). The VSS is located further to the rear, IIRC, and has the wiring colors stated previously.
Phantom is correct, the vss feeds several circuits via the pcm, and without that signal, it won't shift, ( you get one gear) and no speedometer working .

Yeah I attached the small connector on the aft end of the trans. It shifts and displays mph normally. That NSS connector you referenced was a pain in the ***. The original one broke (on the bad trans) so I chopped the connectors out of it. On the replacement trans I did use a heat gun and they came apart much nicer. I was afraid I overheated one of the sockets because one of the pins did not want to line up easily. I thought I finally got it together properly. I guess I'll check the fuse(s) and go from there. The cruise control does nothing right now.
