Mechanic can't figure it out

My van is making a rotation sounding banging that starts at about 40mph, doesn't make the noise when I speed up, but makes the noise when I slow down. The mechanic thought it was some kind of engine mounts and changed those and now it's still making the noise plus some new noises. The noise happened after my transmission was replaced, but that may just be a coincidence? Thanks so much for reading!

My quick guess, could be a drive line issue.
It certainly could have been related to the transmission change ( but not necessarily caused by it). I would drop the drive line and look for a binding U-joint, or possibly a bad transmission output shaft bushing.
