95 front driveshaft delete

Postby Soontobeavanowner [OP] » May 9th 2013, 2:00pm

So I read a while ago that I could remove it, but, I would have to re-attach part of it to save the diff or TC from burning up. Can anyone help me with this?

I know about the rolling; where I am is mostly flat.. The driveshaft threw a weight and I'd like to just swap the TC eventually. Just need to get this off till then so I can stop spending all my money on fuel.

It says "keep the wheels off the ground to avoid damage" at one point, does this mean I can't remove the shaft while using ramps vs jack stands?

Have it on stands, not ramps.

And this really will make no difference in your fuel consumption.

Really? I've heard 2wd is way better than awd and i also figured since the shaft isn't balanced it would be working harder too..

You still have the weight of the differential, cv axles, torsion bars and transfer case.

Ditto. Unless you swap the entire subframe assembly, its still an AWD van.
