2001 Astro Automatic Transmission

Postby KentBeasley [OP] » April 25th 2010, 2:29am

I have a 2001 Astro with a recently failed automatic transmission. rear wheel drive. after talking to my mechanic, it seems that the transmission in the 2001 Astro is different than those used in other year models. is this true? all other sources seem to say that the transmission is the standard 4L60e transmission.

I am not really sure Kent. But this response will bump you up to the top. If I can find an answer, I will. Welcome to the forum. Jim

On the basis on a search on http://www.car-part.com Seems the only direct swap is a 2001.That is all that is listed is a 2001.I suspect it one of GM transitional yrs they had threw-out the vans history.
