1986 Astro FACTORY stick about to be sold.

I had my borg warner trans rebuild with all new parts two years ago. I had to go nuts to find a new input shaft for it.
Unfortunately the rebuilder failed to notify me that either the yoke was worn as well or he pierced the rear seal.
When I realized it was acting up I quickly deduced it was leaking. While I kept the fluid levels good over the last 6 months, it's starting to show signs it needs to be dropped again. Unfortunately I do not have the time, space, or cash to rebuild it again, and I need to keep working. So I must reluctantly let it go with tears in my eyes. Anybody have any other suggestions?

I was considering dropping a 350 in it with a cobra, camaro or S10 trans, but the money is just not there and I felt it would destroy the value of this rare toy. It's in Florida if anyone down here might be interested. This thing is amazing, the only other van I've had that could compare was my old 1970 VW's. The Stick astro was everything the VW wasn't and I was so gratefull and overjoyed to find one. Now I'm heartbroken.

Is that a 4 speed with a four cylinder or a 5 speed with a 4.3?.

4.3 litre 5 speed. Clutch release looks good, trans speed on release within spec. It's been tough to shift over the last few days
so I pulled it off the road. The engine is original with about 233,000 miles on it. I figure it's going to need a new engine sooner or later. Compression was still good when I last checked 6 months ago. It's got the Heavy duty Sachs truck clutch.
A new master and slave clutch cylinder as well.
Unfortunately my boss (multi-millionare) renegged on repairing my other astro (automatic) that I was using to haul HIS trailer lift with for 2 years without paying me a dime, so I dumped it just so he'd stop asking when we could use it again. It had a freshly rebuilt engine that was to be the spare for the 5 speed. With it gone, and my situation....you can guess the rest.

Hate to admit it but I've been crying off and on all day thinking about having to give it up.
