98 astro awd dome lights wont come off

Hi, im new to this forum. recently, just noticed that the dome lights wont come off anymore once i shut the doors, it hasnt been like that before and i have never touched the dimmer nor the dome override switch. it was in the same way as when the dome lights was still coming off before. now i tried pushing in the dome override to see if it goes off and yes it goes off about 10secs after shutting doors. tried pull back override again then wont come off again. dimmer is set at the 2nd line which always has been. ran out of any ideas and would appreciate any suggestions...

if the dome override works, then I would suspect one of the door switches being at fault. Pull the switch out of each door individually and jumper it until you find the culprit ( most likely the drivers side door ).

I agree. On mine it was the slider that was the culprit. I'm guessing maybe someone got out and snagged a piece of clothing on it and popped the end of it off.

Thanks guys, ill try those suggestions but will i be able to pull the jamb switch from the outside or do i have to gutt anything from the inside?

one more thing is, is it normal that only the driver side door sounds the alarm when door is ajar? i noticed mine like that, all the other doors doesnt sound the alarm?

Hmmm, i maybe inching out the culprit here but would still appreciate suggestions...

My side door switch went on my 2000 so I pushed the Dome over ride and solved for now..
