Alternator Model(nsfw)

Alternator Model(nsfw)

Postby Positive P [OP] » July 24th 2011, 3:32pm

Looking for a tip on where to look for the info on what model alternator I have on my stock '90 Astro.
I know it's Delco, but I'm needing a model # and can't seem to locate that info.
Thanks In Advance!

Enter your VIN in this link and scroll down and look at the generator , it will give some info
there is a code like "K68" , K60 , LU2 , ......

It varies depending on what accessories came on it from factory , some had more and had a higher output alternator

CS-130D usually, I think. I've never ran into a later model van (like ours) with a different factory alternator

I discovered that from '87-'90 Astro/Safari used the CS-130.
I found a complete 220 amp rebuild kit for these alternators for $104.00 plus tax

If you want more "real" amps, go look at the Tahoe and Suburban CS-144 alternators.
They will fit the location and give you more legitimate power.
