Ground Locations - 2004

Ground Locations - 2004

Postby WinnieVan [OP] » October 6th 2017, 11:59pm

I've tried finding this in the FSM but I cannot.

Does anyone have a complete list of engine/body/interior grounds and their locations?

I've seen them for other vehicles online but not the Astro.

I can find the wiring diagrams in the FSM but I can't find a list of where the grounds are connected.

Here they are -- I thought that list wasn't complete for some reason!

Is there any indication which of these are PCM grounds?

Ground Locations:
- Front of eng on Tstat housing
- Left side of firewall behind battery
- Radio grounds right side of dash
- Back of driver's side head
- left rear side of frame
- left rear eng
- LF radiator support
- lower right engine block
- right kick panel left kick
- upper half of right d pillar
- behind bottom of left b pillar
- upper half of left d pillar
- left rear of vehicle
- front of left rear wheel well

I'm assuming everything is facing the front of the vehicle so:
Left = Driver's side and Right = Passenger side?

Thanks Will. I've looked but had a hard time finding the location of the grounds -- I find the ground schematics but nowhere that says: Ground 201 is located at X.

Ok I think I found it finally. Stupid me.

For anyone else using the Techline eSI all the wiring information is under at:

Body --> Wiring Systems --> Component Locator --> Master Electrical Component List
Body --> Wiring Systems --> Schematic and Routing Diagrams

That's the place ;) Glad you found it, takes a little while to get used to the way they organized everything in there.

Yea -- not that intuitive when even searching "wiring" doesn't pull it up. Even "ground" doesn't get you that far.

It's weird to categorize wiring under body IMO -- it should probably just be its own category!

That is a holdover from when GM had the bodies made by Fisher Body. You had 2 different wiring diagrams. The engine wiring diagram would be in the car repair manual and the chassis wiring digram would be in the Fisher Body manual.
