Brake lights, parking lights on at same time.

Brake lights, parking lights on at same time.

Postby 1990moonbeam [OP] » March 14th 2018, 3:15am

Hey guys, i have a problem with my lights in my van. when i press my brakes the left parking light turns on as well as the turn indicator in the gauge cluster. when i turn on the parking lights the right one turns on but the left one does too but its dim, i flip the turn signal switch and its fine but both indicators are on. same problems with the headlights. but the headlights are fine, its just the the parking lights and the tail lamps. when i make a left turn the light stays on, but when i turn right it goes at a normal pace or it goes quick sometimes. Can it be a bad ground, bad bulb or a switch?

Start with the easiest to check; bad bulb.

Take the brake light bulbs out and clean the factory grease out of the sockets. It has gummed up and turned to the nasty.

Weak grounds can do some strange things!

yep it was the bulbs, i was gearing up for a electrical war. went to auto zone, got some bulbs for it. cleaned the sockets and works like a charm. i thought that it was a bad ground of some sorts. Thank you to all. have a good day!
