Best place for battery cable

So I'm putting a small subwoofer setup in the van which will require running a cable from the battery to the rear. I've drilled a small hole for the tach wire for my remote start, however I don't think I can drill a larger hole beside it for the AWG4 battery cable without causing issues with the doghouse. What's a good spot to either fish through or drill and grommet a hole for this cable?

This is where I ran mine. It did come up just in front of the wheel well, but I've sense moved it to come up in front of the fuel neck.

Hmm.. that looks doable, maybe exit by the filler neck bump then run it the rest of the way back. The only thing is the box and wire must be able to sit all the way in the back or be put between the front seats. The ground will be relocatable of course, but the battery cable should be somewhat mobile.

You can ground it anywhere, a nice big screw to the floor will be fine with bare metal contact. Both my amps are grounded to one of the bolts that hold my security partition to the floor.
Take the wire back to the wheel well, them inside and go over the wheel well to the back or maybe theres a good place to run it all the way under the van, that will offer it some protection.

Interesting... I just ran my subwoofer power cable through the firewall then underneath the plastic panels. I covered the power wire in wire loom at the firewall so it doesn't chafe and short out.

I didn't have room to run my 4ga under the door sill, got 3 RCA's going back and 2 sets of speaker wire going back up. It's pretty full under there

That is pretty thick. Mine's only like 10ga . Amp is only 200 watts RMS. I have that and another 10ga wire (aux reverse lights) on the driver's side trim and the RCA cables and amp trigger wire on the passenger side trim.

Absolutely. It's fused right out at the battery. I'll have to get pics of how I did it but I found a flat spot by the shifter cable that was clear on both sides so I drilled there. It's hidden on the inside and doesn't look too bad on the outside. I can tell these kits aren't really made for vans, since the RCA's barely reached the back, let alone the amp, so I had to finesse it a little bit to make it work. The battery cable wasn't as bad and I found a decent spot for the ground. I'm going to go back and solder the connections though, the ring terminals didn't clamp down on the wires all that great and I've already got a dodgy connection.

I've never owned a real pair of Kliens, I have one or two knockoffs. I LOVE my Thomas & Betts though.

I've got an old *** set of the cheap die cut crimp pliers that I put some better grips on from something else. They have the little nodes in the crimp jaw like the Kliens and other good ones. You wanna see a man tare apart the house when he's got some crimp connectors to put on and can't find his pliers.
Oh, and I do love my Klien tin snips.
