Power cut on freeway, but started right back up after?

Not typical of alternator failure but.. talked to a friend who had the same issue with his Pathfinder (all power cut, once every 6 months or so, always under different circumstances load wise, turns right back on) for a couple years, called to ask if he ever figured it out, and he said last time it happened it didn't turn back on and something had been slowly going in the alternator, and hasn't happened again since that was replaced... So I got myself a new alternator. Nothing else that could have been related seemed too amiss, so was left at a bit of a loss. So far so good, but seeing as it happens so sporadically, I guess only time will tell~

Spoken like a true New England-er! This would probably work well.

I had this problem because the TPS was bad.
