Engine Rad Fan

The fan under my hood seems to be on and run all the time

i am pretty sure it is on a clutch but always seems to be on when driving

it does run all the time the clutch just slows it down.

so when driving and accelerating off the line its normal to always hear a fan over powering the engine noise

It should be like that when it first starts. Untill you get up to speed the first time then it should het quiet. Occasionally you will barely hear it. Sounds like the clutch is wearing out and starting to drag to much.

It is locked need a new clutch. Or clutch and fan if that is the way they are selling them.

Just wiggle the fan. If it is tight not acting like it coming off. Then it will last forever and not hurt a thing.

its ok if it runs all the time the van is on kinda sounds like a supercharger like im driving a hover craft or something lol

It robs power from the engine, but the fan is designed to go as fast as the engine will drive it,

and no it won't hurt, it will just cost you slightly more in fuel. Get to it as soon as you can.

If you live in a state that gets snow Then replace the fan clutch otherwise if it is stuck on it will keep cooling the engine preventing it from reaching operating temp and your heat will not work that well.
