You ask if anyone had trouble getting the key to got to acc position.
My DVD player if it looses power has to reboot.
I was clowning I can go from running to in the acc position so fast the DVD stays on.

Mine you have to have it in park and push the key inward to get it to turn. Try holding the shifter up while you try to turn it. Maybe a linkage issue. It is staying locked out.

Hose it down up in the shifter and anywhere you see a opening with WD 40. Wipe it down and let it soak a day or so. May be dried grease in there holding the thing in place.

For a long time I thought mine didn't even have an ACC position. Then these guys gave me the advice Maher suggests. Wiggle, push, pull, lube etc...now I've got ACC.

You can't spray it in the wrong place. Put the key part way in, stick the WD40 straw in with it. Spray a bit. Here and there, wherever.

Mostly it was realizing that there was an ACC position. Once I felt how to get it there, it comes naturally now. Like riding a ballet dancer.

GM lock cylinders are factory assembled using a silicon-based lube. WD40 is mostly solvent. It WILL get your cylinder freed up but you'll be wiping goopy-spooge off of your key for the next month or so before you put it in your pocket. A little goes a long way here, guys. Use the straw and try to direct it UPWARD because that's where the individual tumblers are. You can always spray more if you need to but it's a smelly, messy business to clean up sometimes.

Whenever mine would stick, I would just give it some "wrist action" where I quickly spun it back without a whole lot of effort. I eventually learned how to get the action just right to where the continuous movement kept it going. It was more finesse than it was forceful.
