Reversed Battery Polarity - Dead Instrument Cluster

I went a pulled the biggest bonehead move of my entire mechanical history.
It's a long story, but in the confusion of diagnosing a bad battery (only a few months old), and the rush to roll up my windows to beat the rain, I managed to reverse the polarity. My battery was taken out and the rain was coming, so to roll up the windows I just hooked the jumper cables from the other car to my battery cables....BACKWARDS
I realized within a few seconds what was up, but the damage was already done.

Now my instrument cluster doesn't work. No speedometer, gas gauge, PRNDL/odometer, temp, or warning lights. Oil pressure and voltage gauges seem to work.

I tried replacing the instrument panel cluster, but it didn't change anything.

OBD still shows all the data for the gauges.

What is my next step in diagnosis?
Start checking for signals from the PCM?
Should I just try swapping the PCM? They are pretty cheap on ebay.

Help me please.

I assume you have checked all the fuses, but have you checked the fusable links hidden in the wiring harness? I would have done that before swapping anything. You will need a service manual to find the location of the right links...or maybe someone here can post it.

Fuses under dash and under hood and as CC pointed out, fusible links.

Forgot about fuses under the dash.
Replaced the one I found that was burned, all is fixed.

Alwas a comfort to find that a 50c fuse was the problem instead of a bazillion dollar module that's not available anywhere and requires dismantling the entire van to replace.

Glad you got it under control. As Lumpy says HORSES, not ZEBRAS! So is the original cluster back in there now?
