Distributor wires

Distributor wires

Postby smokinjoe [OP] » August 12th 2015, 9:04pm

I am trying to replace the wires going from the distributor to the coil. Does anyone know where I can get those besides junk yard?

Went to 25 junkyards and no dice. I have put many days into this fix with no avail.

Doesn't anyone sell these new?

Wow! 25 yjs! What's going on? Are they just selling the harnesses with the motor?

Did you unwrap and inspect each wire? Pull on each one where it goes into the connector?

If you are having a problem with the coil lead, why not do the right thing

and replace the hi-tension wire set with a new, good quality, direct fit

replacement set. Not all that expesive, and probably a swell idea to boot.

Well, here in NYC there is little Tiajuanna by Citifield stadium. Will try to post pics but there are way more than 25 junkyards all in one place.

They had whole motors but they were not easy to get to so they wanted $75 for the coil and wires. (no way)

I already replaced the hi tension wires to no avail and its the 2 lower volt wires that may be partially to blame.

Will continue to find a real mechanic to try to fix this ridiculous misfire . Today am doing the fuel filter and putting anti foul shrouds on 2 plugs.

Sorry, misunderstood. Sounded like the secondary coil wire was the problem.

You should be able to salvage what you need from any 4.3 L Chevy, or get new

pins from the LAPS and rewire the bugger using the existing connector shells.
