grill and headlight swap ?

Postby GotV8 [OP] » July 31st 2009, 3:20am

A buddy of mine has a 2003 Astro Cargo van with the standard headlights and grill. He is wanting to replace this with the composite headlight and grill setup because he was wanting to change the grill but could not find the style he liked as well as wanting a chrome grill. Can these front componites be interchanged? ?
I have a 89 safari we swapped the V6 out for a 350 bored 30 over 514 solid lift cam 4 barrel carb. The cooling system is still the stock radiator I replaced the cluched fan for a solid mount 18" flex which did require modification of the fan shround.

Hi GotV8

Yes they can be with a little work. It's a straight forward swap overall, just have all the parts that you need first from a donor vehicle.:)

I was trying to find my thread about it. I swapped from a Astro grille to a Safari Grill, back to a Astro Composite Grille. All plug and play. Bolt up the same, headlights bolt in. I think there was a small wiring change, but it was a year ago... so I am a little foggy. Did the swap in less than 30 minutes. Easy peasy.
