the easiest way that comes to mind......leave the key in it; which doesn't really seem like a good idea  . Otherwise, you'd have to modify the mechanism, not sure if you can do it from the switch or if it operates from the lock cylinder. Should be do-able though. If it requires pulling the steering wheel, be EXTREMELY careful with the SIRS coil ,and airbag, naturally. Should just be some sort of pawl mechanism in it.

I thought about leaving the key in it but when you turn the key the ignition turns on .
I guess i could leave the key in (turned on ) and then unplug the wires going to the ignition switch but i would prefer to get rid of the key cylinder all together al;ong with the locking mechanism

you're not running all that current straight through a toggle switch are you? I've done it on a few cars in the past but used a bank of relays to actually switch the power. Out of curiosity.... why'd you change it? ( a few cars correlates to several Furd Focusiz that had the steering column wallow out where the key cylinder goes...that's quality, i tell ya)

I have one single 30 amp relay for my ignition circuit.
I was trying to make it setup kinda like a race car , toggle ign , push start and then when i arm my alarm system it kills it so the ignition wont work!

I would just remove the locking ring or even locking pin from the steering column. The steering wheel would never lock them.

shave off the end of the key (@ the GM fob) so only the shaft and grooves are left, insert into the ign so it looks like there is not a key in there

I'll look for something that looks like a locking ring or locking pin and remove.

When you get off the steering wheel, dust cover and clockspring, you will see it. Here is a pic of it.
