Here's a bunch of 2003 astros for auction

Postby d0n [OP] » October 25th 2009, 3:59pm

These are government used vans. They usually buy new vehicles every 3 years regardless of the mileage on their current vehicles. That's our tax dollars at work! Aren't we nice... buying our government new vehicles very 3 years!? :banghead:

Anyway... if anyone is near newburgh NY and in the market for a nice astro... these might be what you're looking for. It appears that they are all really low mileage, 2wd cargo vans.

The GSA auctions happen all the time all over the country... even if you're not in the market now, they'll be an auction when you are ready to buy.

I've bought 3 vehicles (97 olds acheiva, 2000 dodge stratus, 2003 ford taurus wagon) from this GSA house in the past. Great vehicles that are fleet maintained. You can't go wrong with a GSA vehicle.

The NY auction --- > http://www.autoauctions.gsa.gov/Auction ... BFBPC10002

The USA auction calendar ---> http://www.autoauctions.gsa.gov/calenda ... =11-1-2009

Looks nice, but I guess I have to add about $3000 to get it to Sweden.

I like the way these Vans look in Cargo mode, but they don't have any seats in the back. :banghead:

Easy fix: ADD SOME!

I have the seats I took out of my wife's villager mounted midships in mine. Positioned, marked, checked for interference & fuel/brake lines, drilled and bolted down with reinforcements under the floor to prevent pull through in case of an accident. There's pics in my gallery. I took them back out when I replaced the carpet. There's pics of that too.

Thanks d0n for the link to the auctions, It's good info to have should the need arise.

Not so sure me just bolting seats in there would fly with my wife as good enough for our kids to ride in. :naughty: :lol:

Ya, the government likes to let them sit for 3 years so they get back even less money on them. They don't care its not their money! :whack:

I was thinking about getting a slider with no window for my cargo when I first got it. But that window sure comes in handy when your trying to back out along side some cursed extended chebby Express at Home Depot

And the bf WISHES he still drove a cursed Chebby Express for his day job - they made him swap to a new Furd E350 and he detests it. Everything about it.

But he still talks about the Astros he used to drive for work...that's why we bought ours.
