Nice work Stan. Are you still riding? I haven't ridden since I sold my '72 sportster in 1995. Every now and then I miss it but it only takes a minute or two on the roads these days to appreciate the cage around you. Is it my imagination or are there really a lot more stupid people on the road today?

Bruce, I thought I was done biking in 2010 after the Int BSA owners rally in New Zealand. One of my mates there loaned me a '56 BSA 650 and I put over 2000 miles on it there. I could tell I really didn't need to be on one of those things with my inner ear problems screwing with my balance. Graham didn't think he could afford to come to America in 2014 for the Rally in Petaluma, Cali. so i wouldn't have to provide a BSA for him. The son-of-a-gun inherited a quarter Million NZ dollars and America was on. I ended up building a pair of BSA 500s for he & I. Sold one of them to him and we shipped it back to NZ. Sold the other to a friend in Wisconsin. Riding again DID seem fun so I went back to working on a '61 BSA 650 that got put aside for building the Astro-mino. This is the saga in this thread.

Riding has always been fun, I hope to see pics of this bike out in the summer scenery.

Come to think of it I did ride my kid's scooter around the block a couple years ago, I loved it. Riding was almost always a joy to me, the only times I didn't like to ride was on the trip to work in bad weather, on the way home was another story,,, I have been known to go out for smokes or a six pack and come back days later. My first dog, a springer spaniel used to ride with me. After the first couple rides I made a leather cover for my tank she could dig her claws into and she rode with me everywhere.

My hubby hadn't had a bike since his died in '00 and really missed it. So as a belated wedding present I bought him the '82 Kawasaki KZ 550 LTD, very like his last bike (which was not an LTD). He rides it almost every weekend morning....early, so as not to have the idiot traffic. Or at least, not so much of it.

His favorite accessory is his Milwaukee heated jacket.
