year-to-year gas tank info

Postby JayDubya [OP] » April 24th 2010, 8:45am

The Haynes manual sez that from 1992 on up, our gas tanks were 27 gallons, except 98-99-00 when they were 25 gallons.
Does anyone here know why the capacity was reduced in those three years?
Also, Does anyone know what years of gas tanks are "swappable" without modification?

the manual book for my 2000 LS AWD says it has a 27 gallon tank

i have never been below 1/4 tank so i couldn't really tell you if it actually holds 27 gallons, but i'd like to believe that the manual is correct
