Astrowill.... it went well. Just had a basic y pipe made to match up to my headers and to the single muffler that is in the stock location.

100 miles on the road so far and all is well except I have to swap a new heater core in soon as we are headed into winter(technically it snows 3 weeks ago!)

I have an electric fan using the bmw thermo switch that kicks on at 210* and the dash temp gauge runs a little above the halfway mark.

I'll most likely switch over to one that kicks on at 190* when I get after the heater core.

Where do you have your thermoswitch installed?

I run it middle of the upper hose in an aluminum block.

The switch has a fan low speed trip at 190* and fan high speed trip at 210*

The temp gauge sensor is in the driverside head.

Today I swapped out the thermostat to a 180* instead of the 195*.

I was incorrect about the thermo switch. It kicks on low speed at 190* and the high speed kicks in at 210*.

So just doing the the thermostat lowered the gauge reading a decent amount.

Red line reading with the 195* thermostat and now the orange line with the 180*
