Thanks, Will! Vivian loves the huge windows, too! I am concerned about heating/cooling efficiency with such large windows. Currently exploring some really insulated window options!

Update:

The van is about half way coated with POR-15. I'm planning to finish up painting the rusty bits before going over almost everything with some of the rubberized undercoating. I'm hoping to prolong the life and appearance quite a bit with this step! I painted over the fuel tank but was sure to leave the groovy manufacturing sticker from 1988 so. cal.

Once this step is done, it will be time to start installing a floor for a base to build on.

Also! I discovered the source of a severe vibration I felt when driving it. I was concerned it was something to do with the transmission having issues or something, but it is actually just a worn carrier bearing. I am super excited to replace it and see how much better the driving experience is. Still a full convertible. but I imagine it'll ride smoother.

I have seen the coupling of the wires on the tank, I believe this is not a good thing. This will get corroded for sure in the future and you will be stuck, with taking the tank down, I would for sure use solder and shrink sleeve. I can tell you that I cut so many couplers from my van, that you would not believe...

I appreciate your advice on those electrical connectors. I hadn't planned on doing anything to them, but I will now! I'll plan to solder and shrink sleeve, like you suggest. I think the shrink sleeve will look a lot better than the butt splices, anyway.
