Iceberg good to know. Might be the answer for some people switching to s-10 springs. When I put the s-10 springs on mine the clam shells just barley fit. If I didn’t have air and 1/2 inch impact they never would have gone back on. As it was I had to skip the top. Rubber piece.

Replaced the EBCM today to get 'er ready to pass inspection. Lucky for me 57 degrees and sunny outside and a shop had already replaced the impossibly corroded T20 bolts on the EBCM with new hex bolts with flathead slots two years back so it came off *relatively* easily. ABS and Brake lights went away before I left my driveway. This is two years of driving with them on so its a simple luxury to have no more warning lights on the dash.

Noticed some new leaks while I was under there to go with the few I already knew about but nothing major. One of these days I'll get around to replacing some gaskets and tackling the slow oil leak, I swear. A can or two of engine degreaser and a pressure washer should get me past the safety inspection :shhh:

Have to deal with state inspection, property tax office, and DMV before Jan 1 so I can get two year plates instead of single year. Missouri is strange and you can only get two year plates on even years for even year vehicles or odd years for odd year vehicles.

Next up is replacing the driver's side lock actuator which burnt out when the tip of the sliding door's door jamb switch broke off and triggered endless auto-locking... actuator was bound to go out eventually though so I can't be that mad about a slightly earlier replacement schedule. Waiting on Rock Auto for the door jamb switch still but turned off the auto lock thanks to these forums so no issue there.

Postby Rod's Trucks » December 23rd 2020, 6:09am

We had our first snow of the season last night. Not much to worry about, but it was heavy and wet, and then it froze.
'Radio Active' has been sitting for over three weeks, and this morning I went out to start it.
The battery was very low and it just did not want to crank over. I discovered I had left a couple of small loads plugged into the power outlets in the console, and a small digital voltage display which runs off the overhead courtesy light circuit.
I am impressed the starting battery it held up as well as it did, considering I had left three items plugged in and operational for that long. :D
I plugged in a cheapo HF Battery Maintainer for the day. That was enough to allow it to start. The van and I were both happy to have some internal heat!
The van is normally connected to AC power whenever it is going to be parked for an extended period of time, but this time it was not planned.

Not much to report here in South Florida ...
(weather has been nice in the low 80's and vans are good)

This past weekend: (beside cruising the local car shows)
Mowed the lawn, edged the driveway, washed the van...

I haven't cut the lawn since just before Halloween, and I've been letting the snow build up on the van. I did pull the new battery out of it, and toss it into the Geo Prizm to keep it getting used/charged as I don't drive the van in the winter (too much salt on the roads around here).

This short post is more about what I didn't do with my van today.
Today nothing. I left my van home in the driveway. (sorry no photo..lol)

It was sunny and nice.. so I rode my motorcycle on our classic car beach run.
We had about 20 cars.

BeachCruiseLineup.jpg

Here's my buddy in his 62 Vette.
It's as LOUD as it is FAST.
He turned a few heads on our Christmas cruise today.
(I'm taking photos while riding in the next lane)

You've seen this car before (back in one of my posts in Jan 2018) with Cheerleaders...

20180114_125135b.jpg

That's all I got... (sorry I got a little off topic today)
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Drove it over the river, over the Bay, through the woods to the BILs house for Christmas dinner, then back home. In a lot of wind.

Good trip, though.

At some point in the engine swap I managed to mangle the faceplate on my brake controller. It was old and cheap, which explains why I liked it- it reminded me of me. Back in May of '18 I bought an exact replacement on eBay for $20. Today I finally installed it. I haven't towed anything in all this time, let alone something with trailer brakes. It looks better than the first one, and had a nicer mounting bracket. I mounted it under the climate controls. Convenient, yet out of the way.

THAT'S IT !..... my van needs a new Zip Code !!!!

I finished the Sub Box this weekend, can't wait to hear it...I still need to run power feeds and mount the Amps then the system will be done

It seems like it got cold early this year, the van's been sitting idle in the tent for almost two months now. I need it to be 60 degrees so I can work on it or my fingers go numb ( Raynaud's Disease ) I have the gas tank out and I'm waiting for warmer weather to install the new fuel pump...the little red wagon is waiting on spring also...

Come on April........

Well I felt better today so I lifted the front end of my 89 and filled the transfer case The I sprayed all the bolts/nuts on the control arms with PB blaster & installed the floor shifter cable.
Then I installed fog lights behind the grill of the 03. I have to keep busy when I can. Mark
