Roof Rack: help!

Hi y'all!

I'm new here, and I've hit a conundrum with my 2000 Chevy Astro. The van came with what appear to be after-market bolted 'ears' (for lack of a better term) that were definitely once used for a ladder rack. I'd love to repurose these mounts and ideally mount a cargo basket, but I can't find any crossbars, ladder racks, or anything with this style of mount! At this point I'm just trying to figure out what I'm dealing with. I've had it for over a year through heavy rain, so these mounts (while ugly) don't leak and seem very solid.

Any thoughts? Has anyone else seen this style of mount before? I can't even find the brand (Crown) online.

Any and all help is appreciated!!

Welcome to the site. Not sure about the branding on that, but MFGs come and go. With a generic mount like that, the rack world is your oyster ;)

Here are some popular racks MFGs, virtually any of them can be modified to fit those generic mounts. Might want to look locally for a distributor/installer. Another option is to look at local classifieds and then modify or hire someone to modify whatever rack you want to install.

My Astro cargo van came with WeatherGuard racks with the baffle at the front and I hate the noise, so I removed them and filled the holes from the blind nuts with 3M 5200 sealant. That has held up exceptionally well, but I have always thought it would be good to have an option for removing them without causing leaks. I think I may install stainless NutSerts, seal them from below and use a Nylon bolt to fill the holes when they're not on the van. If I had to buy a new rack, I would prefer something that uses the gutter over a bolt-on.
