Thanks guys. Me and my mom certainly had a complex relationship and I spent a lot of yrs as far from home as possible but am just glad we reconciled and grew close (closer at least) over these last couple of yrs. Its been pretty amazing coming to understand what an incredible man my dad is as he works through all this. Its been a journey, no doubt. Word of advice, if you're still able, it's never a bad idea to give your folks a call just to check in and say hi. Anyway, onward and upward!

Been a while since I posted.. been mostly working on the house in FL and trying to help my dad get his ranch settled and sold out in WY. Anyway, here's a house update for anyone that remembers what it looked like way back when!

Hey thanks! I'm sure she'd like someone a little more experienced than a dude just making it up as he goes along, fully educated at YouTube University! Progress is being made though and I couldn't be happier with it.

Unfortunately, no new van pics which is well over a yr into an engine swap that I claimed would take a couple months. Lol. I was so young and full of optimism back then! The good news is the company is doing great (we're up to 12 full time employees) and I found a shop im negotiating on the rental of one of the bays to move the van out of this heat and daily rain. Meanwhile, I spent the weekend working on the blue houses' porch.

In other news, the house next to the blue house (not the one between the blue house and the green house - the one next door to the west) might be getting rented to new tenants. The bad news is, it's the freaking looney tunes that used to own the blue house and turned it into the dump it was when I bought it. They're trying to get into the house next door because they're being evicted from their current rental (for trashing it). So... to prevent that, I might be suddenly doing what I can to buy that place too. Ugh.

Thanks friends. Getting better every day!
Got the porch about half done. Need to cut 6 more slats for the top and then stain everything.

Looks great Sam. Nicely done with the siding details, board and batten gable is a nice touch. Simple stuff like that sets houses apart. I like the prairie style windows, did the same in my house.

Thank you and yeah, the details on houses really makes the difference.

Those windows look great and were an absolute gift from the Facebook gods. A pile of them popped up on marketplace practically new. I snagged the whole stack for about $50 a window which was incredibly fortunate because I'd just quit my job and started the business so the budget was seriously tight.

I almost can't believe how this place is coming together though. It's been thrilling to see it just fall into place.

Thanks man, the house exterior is finally getting buttoned up to the point that I'd like to get back into the van in the next few weeks. Gotta get that thing back on its feet!
