Cut the low hanging shock mounts off leaving the tabs behind for mounting e-brake cable brackets:

Did you took off brake lines when you did this? Can't see them in this picture.

That's the front view from the passenger side so brake line is out of the way on the backside of axle. On the driver's side, I just moved the brake line up and out of the way (it's flexible enough) and protected it while cutting and grinding.

Here is the tire clearance at full lock on inner subframe rails at full lock, can see why I am considering 1/2" hubcentric wheel spacers.

How are others taking care of this rubbing problem? Larger backspace wheels? Banging in the frame rails? Can imagine this may be a problem if the van is flexed.

^ It's not a problem as it barely kisses, just enough to rub paint off. As the tire wears a bit, the problem is gone. You could do different backspaced wheels, I wanted to use factory wheels.

What are you planning with the lift shackles?

You can get them from airbagit.com, it's where I got the replacement bushings for the ones you sold me.

Thanks Corsemoto! I know this is an ancient thread but I tried the link and Airbagit still has the Astro shackles listed, so I bought a pair. I just want to lift my Astro a little, 2 inches should be fine. For the front I think I'll try adjusting the torsion bars and see if I can get 2 inches that way, if not I'll get the 2 inch lift keys.

One item to note, (I may have mentioned earlier in thread but probably good to rehash) is that I originally was going to keep the stock rear shock mounts and use longer shocks, however longer Rancho RS9000XL RS999112 rear shocks are the massive 2.75" diameter tube (instead of 2.18") and do not fit because of their larger diameter. They looked really tough being so big, and I did test fit them upside down, however this isn't something Rancho recommends for this style shock so decided to the shock tab relocation instead.

Folks looking for longer rears may want to take a look at the RS999010. Its the smaller diameter body (2.18") so fits in the axle brackets, and has about 1.3" longer compressed and 3" longer extended than the RS999147. It comes with a series of tubes for mounting, one set of which is 1/16" narrower than stock- and the stock brackets seem to pull into that width. I think it would work well for bolt-in shocks on 3" lift in rear, albeit you may want to extend the bump stops a little bit.

I haven't installed them yet, and would appreciate anyone that feels like double-checking / fact checking the info i provided...
