You are looking for a replacement transmission for your 2000 van with 4L60E-EC3 tranny.
The replacement tranny could come from a wide range of GM trucks, or cars. (RWD)
Here are some things which need to "match up."
I am no expert, but I hope this helps guide you to the right answer.

Wire Harness & Safety Switch:
A 2000 Astro/Safari will have the "round" interface connector to the passenger side of the tranny (to valve body).
This was found on all 1993 to 2008 4L60E transmissions...
The safety switch on your 2000 tranny may have two square connectors, or perhaps the newer single rectangle connector.
Either way, it doesn't make too much difference, as the safety switch assembly is often damaged and the correct version can be purchased for <$45 and applied to the replacement tranny during installation.

Valve Body:
An "old" valve body (with PWM controlled TCC) may not work with your van's PCM/ECM (with a EC3).
But your original valve body can probably be swapped to the replacement tranny.
To reduce issues, stick with a 1998 to 2008 transmission with EC3 type control/valve body.

Torque Converter and input shaft:
Although the torque converter is a replaceable part, you still want to pay attention to which one you put in your rebuild.
the Torque Converter Clutch material is specific to how the TCC is locked up (constant on, PWM, or EC3 have different Torque Converter clutch materials and specs)
If you stick with a 1998-2008, this will minimize risk.

Note: the Astro has a 30 spline input shaft which is common... and a 10.7" bolt circle to the flex plate on the engine.

Output Shaft:
Most RWD GM cars and trucks with the 4L60E had the same long output shaft configuration.
GM did this right, so there is no design variation.

Bell Housing:
You obviously have the 4.3L Vortec, so that means you may have to swap over your bell housing (depending upon the donor tranny).

Final Word:
To be more confident in which models/years would be compatible, you may have to call a transmission rebuild shop or supplier and ask them which other vehicles were listed for the tranny's that are compatible with your 2000 Astro.
(e.g. Savana, or Yukon... )

There are probably 4L60E rebuilders in your area... some listed in the yellow pages, others on CraigsList.
Give 'em a call and see what they say (then tell us what you learned!)

Look up what you got like your getting a trans on those sites. It will say this trans fits these years and what vehicles.
Remember it when you search. The right seller on E bay has a chart under the ad for checking. I cross reference with the other 2 to check for mistakes. It works for me when I getting parts. You have to read look and think. Information is there.
