New calipers, hydraulic rubber lines and brackets installed, new hard lines all bent up and installed. I will bleed them out tomorrow and see if it all holds up.

Have you used that flaring tool much yet? I bought one (from summit, it was cheaper), but I haven't had to use it yet. I was going to try flaring some SS lines when I put my van back together. Also, is your lift outside? I can't quite tell in your pictures.

Did you just use standard steel line? Have you had any issues with the lift being outside? I have been thinking about getting one, but my garage height is too low. Most people don't think the lift being outside is a good idea, but if you cover the posts up during bad weather I don't see any problems with it.

I have to correct my last post. I bent all new cunnifer brake lines for the front of the van when I did the v8 swap. I just bent the back lines on the rear end to the calipers using nickel cadium line because this winter I will drop the fuel tank and the rear end to finish painting the underside of the van. At that point I might do stainless steel for the line to the rear and the lines on the rear, or I might use cunnifer brake line. I have had no problems with the lift outside and it has been at least 3 years. I did bend up some aluminum and covered what I could.

Calipers all done. Bleeding was fun as usual on these vehicles. Vacuum bleed the system, light was going on and of then on at the bottom of the pedal, bleed it with the scanner about 6 times to get all the air out and no lights at the moment and good pedal so I will keep my Fingers crossed for the next day or so. Decided to paint the rear barn doors because they had a couple minor rust spots and a couple of small dings. Only one needed some touch up but I want them to match so...………………….
They are of the truck and will be stripped on Tuesday when my dustless sand blasting nozzle comes in. Afraid to put them in the cabinet blaster, too much heat I think.

All in all this mod is a bolt in. The only thing is the bleeders end up on the bottom of the caliper. So just clamp, or wood block he pistons, and bleed the calipers rite side up (bleeder on top) on the leafspring, then bolt them in.

Why couldn't you just flip the calipers side for side? That way the bleeder is right side up. Regardless a minor inconvenience for a good upgrade is worth it.

It looks like it is because of the brake line. Is that right?

Exactly. The brake lines will not reach. On the Silverado they are on the front of the rear axel tubes. Did not want to go there rite now because you know it wont be as simple as just bending up some new lines, lol. Clearance and all that and I kind of like them up top and out of the way.

I'm a big fan of brake upgrades. That's why I went for the latest generation van.
