I was having a horrible electrical issue with the battery draining and not staying charged in my 95 Astro.After disconnecting the battery and using my meter I figured out that it is coming from one of the fusible links. It’s the one that goes straight into the firewall with about 20-30 other wires. Upon further investigation and separation I found that whatever is beyond this 7 pin connector, is where the short is. I have looked all over the Internet and then all my manuals and I cannot figure out what this seven pin connector goes to. The short/drain is in the bottom and connection that has an orange w/black stripe wire going back there towards the engine bay. Can anyone please advise.

@AstroWill you have posted a number of diagrams and explanations that have kept my van on the road for the last three years lol. Care to throw in your two cents any information would be gladly appreciated.
Thank you for posting your fix! When my van acted similarly, it was a shorted diode in the alternator. It would charge the battery, then drain it.
