Driver seat arm rest

Hello,

We have a 2001 AWD Astro van that the kids sat on the drivers seat arm rest and broke some type of stop when the arm rest is in the rest position. Does any one know how to remove this from the seat, and what is broke on it.

The pivot point on my 2002 Safari SLT arm rest broke. I welded it back on.

The SLT has separate head rests that can be removed.

There is a bolt on each side of the seat back to remove the seat back.
At the bottom of seat back there should be a way to disconnect the upholstery for removal.
Once only the frame is left the pivot point can be rewelded.

It's a fairly easy job to do. I spent a couple hours on it as I took the entire seat out which I wouldn't do next time should I need to repair the pivot point.
