Just because the oil looks "ok" does not mean that it is not contaminated.

I have my oil analyzed on a regular basis. It is only because of this I even discovered I had a coolant leak. They actually called me and said that I had a very high concentration of coolant in my sample. To me the oil looked totally fine. Dark, and not milky.

I found that the drivers side rear and passenger side front lower intake manifold gaskets were leaking right down into the motor valley. Big job, but I replaced the gaskets, the water pump, timing chain and oil pump. Unfortunately you have to pull the timing cover...to get the cover off, you have to pull the pan :banghead: :screaming:

All is good now and as a side benefit, my 215k motor has fantastic oil pressure and runs cool. So far the analysis has been right on track.

Very interesting....how much is it for the testing? Might be worth doing... :chevy:

Well, it took forever. Never had time to look at the van, but I found the leak. It is, just by looking at the front of the motor, leaking from the Intake Gasket. :blah:
I REALLY don't have time to do this by myself. I can do it, will just go slow, but this is my work van and need it ASAP. Quotes: $500-$900, labor only, plus tax :blah:

Sigh.... Wondering if I should just trade the van in......

Having something banging around on the rear suspension as well. Everytime I hit a bump, it sounds like a loud metal to metal bang. Cannot find anything... And the AC is acting up on me too.... :crying:
