I guess it depends how bad you wrecked it, but yes they are no longer available. So if you really need one finding one at a wreckers or someone parting out a van is about your only option.

I'm just guessing, but did the cir clip get somewhat dislodged and chew up the splines? If it's not too bad you can file any burrs off and still use it. Of course the cir clip will need to be repaired or replaced.

Or maybe you did something else to it?

 

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, the head of the spline was deformed. I guess toyota cvs dislodge by hitting the spline itself and after it wouldn't budge we were hitting it hard enough to deform the top. Pretty silly tbh. The whole shaft is still stuck in my old CV as well its time to cut my losses I reckon.

 

The splined piece snaps in same way on both ends.
They are a little challenging to pull apart, but with a little leverage they come right out.
Same going back in.. the c-clip is a bear.

Depending on the damage, it may still be usable.

FYI: You MUST "FULLY SEAT" the CV-axle into the differential, or it will slide in/out and chew up everything.
It's quite a job "lining up" the axle so you can whack it extra hard and straight in.
I use bungies to support axle while whacking it in.
It MUST be seated fully.

x2 on what musicman said....triple check its seated all the way in.....give it a good tug before reassembling everything....been down that road before

They work great.
I would recommend them highly.
And as stated, MAKE SURE THEY ARE SNAPPED IN before closing up.
