]Hey all. I've had this setup in my stro for some while now and it was an improvised project. Well now I could use a few ideas. What I have is a small stand I built out of wood that houses the tv, ps3, battery, and power inverter. The setup is removable so I can pull it out and set it on the ground wherever I want and enjoy. But its a hassle to move and I'm hoping to get ideas that are functional in case I need to add my middle row seats, but semi- permanent enough that it looks nice if anyone wants to ride along or even just see my concoction. Ill post pics now of a few things I've tried. Now remember, most of it all was done with material I already had from something else I took apart. And assembled it with a screwdriver, and temporarily used a plain car battery. Its all a practice run till I get what I like. [attachment=0]20130723_101108.jpg[/attachment

You could design a mount that flips and hooks the screen up to the top of the van flat. Although that screen looks a bit thick for a flat screen. You could run all your wires up through the headliner and just make a plug in spot for all right behind the drivers seat in the side panel.

Then you could make a smaller console for the game equipment.

I had that thought too. But where would I get the support from above? How would I hang it? A piano hinge? Cus I'm tryin to do this on a budget.

First I would look up "flip down tv mount". They are usually used in RV's. Once you see one you like or one that works with your TV then would fabricate the basic idea, hopefully with some old steel in your shop?

For mounting your going to have to take down your ceiling to see what you have. I would go for an angled steel piece mounted across the driver and passenger pillars or try for the roof rack bolts.

The steel can be bent to the contour of the roof. I have done similar to help support and old dodge roof.

The question is how much do you want to tear into the roof of your van?

what about a removable camper table style set up but invert the floor mount. you could do two, one for play, on say in the back for storage, then a portable base to set it up out side/store in garage.

Not a bad idea using the rv hardware. However I don't have a shop or anything. J do have access to tools and stuff and am mechanically inclined. If I end up buying any metal to fabricate with ill end up buying it for the swivel seat mounts I want to make and just improvise from scrap pieces. The tv altogether is about 2-3/4" thick so when it folds up it might take away tons of head space. Just had an idea. Gonna sketch it up and brb with a post.

Alrigh, design apps are hard without a stylus for my phone. I figure I could use unistrut across the top to the pillars. Have one going vertical 3/4 of the way to the floor. From that have a plate to mount my tv to. And at the bottom have a box or somethi g for the ps3. Then there could be open floor under the unit. Remember that I'm talking about a 32" philips lcd tv. Not just a computer monitor. Where it sits it covers half of the driver and passenger headrests.

( EDIT ) Just noticed the post about downsizing my monitors. I only chose the tv I have due to the loss of a home. So I spent $30 and got a used inverter off craigs and took my only tv and my ps3 so the place I live has creature comforts. I keep it looking like I don't live in it though. I cant suck up my pride that much. If I had a way to use my two screens of broken laptops I would, but I don't feel like getting that deep into the electronics. Unless I could easily accquire a control board that was super cheap to plug and play.
