ok i have a 93 chevy astro and every time i try and run my rear ac after like 5mins my entire van just shuts off... once i shut the ac off the van starts back like nothing never happen any ideas whats going on?? :banghead:

Shuts off how? Boggs down and stalls or just quits. Second similar complaint in 2 days. I am really interested to know what causing this for the memory bank.

I was the "first complaint". For my 89, it's not the rear AC but the front. Just shuts down like it's not getting fuel or electricity. Only when the AC is on, only when the weather is hot outside. Goosing the accel pedal brings it out of it's stall if I catch it before it dies entirely. All the usual culprits (ignition components, fuel pump, filter, battery, alt etc) are new and/or test ok.
What kind of gremlins live in those Gen I AC systems that keep trying to stall our vans?

Its just like if i turned the van off there is no warning its just random it occurs mostly when i run front and rear at the same time another thing is who ever had the van b4 me by pass the postive wire going to the battery there is the negitive post and a single wire goin to the battery if u pull that wire off the battery it kills the whole van
